Multnomah Falls - unique natural sight of North America. Probably, it is not so grandiose, as the well-known Niagara Falls, but is improbably picturesque, than involves in itself all the year round a large number of tourists.
Multnomah Falls is located in 30 minutes of driving from the city of Portland in the State of Oregon. The falls do not freeze all the year round. "Eating" underground sources of the mountain the Larch from which it is overthrown, rain and thawed snow, Multnomah Falls in the winter and in the summer bears the waters to the river Colombia.
Special charm gives to falls its appearance - Multnomah Falls two-story falls. It falls from height in 165 meters, hits about rocks, overcomes some meters on a current and again falls down, already upon 21 meters. Over the bottom cascade of falls in 1914 foot Benson Bridge was installed (it is called so in honor of the American philanthropist financing construction).
Here, on the bridge is fully felt all power and beauty of falls, from here open grasping views both of falls and surrounding it pictures of the nature.
