Following this April 2015 earthquake in Nepal the number of people who would like to visit this country reduced a lot.
According to the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) statistics the tourist flow has decreased to 80% after the earthquake that occurred in April, RIA news reports. The government actively started the reconstruction of mountain routes and bridges hoping that tourists should come again to Nepal. “We are working on normalization of life in the main tourist regions. We’ve put all our efforts on the reconstruction and support of mountain routes and bridges so that next season people could go hiking without experiencing any inconveniences – said the chairman of the Committee on Tourism of Nepal, Ramesh Adhikari. The authorities are also working on the special events that should attract visitors upcoming year and the anniversary of the earthquake. There should be held a tourism week in October which will include the participation of tour operators from other countries.
Let us remind you that on April 25, at 11.56, local time, the 7.9 magnitude massive earthquake struck Nepal (The maximum magnitude is 9.5). Victims include more than 8000 people and more than 14000 are injured.
